Four children make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that sends them lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in “Skeleton Crew”; plus more stars from a galaxy far, far away… The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s little brothers is the same one Chewbacca’s family watches in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978). Featured in AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast: Silly Old Deadly Bear (2022). I approach this review with caution, recognizing that 'Skeleton Crew' seems to be geared towards a younger audience. While kids might enjoy it, I found the first four episodes quite disappointing. The story lacks depth, feeling more like a children’s movie that jumps from location to location without much consequence. Against the backdrop of war, it feels superficial, and the action sequences don’t have the impact they should. Even Jude Law sometimes seems to falter. The production design is impressive, but it can’t save a story that feels slow and ultimately quite forgettable. Perhaps the series will improve later, but based on my initial viewing, I remain unconvinced. Please prove me wrong!
