It’s about a seemingly ordinary family with a dark secret: they’re vampires. They decide not to drink blood despite their natural desires, but one day the truth is revealed. In this modern British vampire film, “The Radleys,” Kelly Macdonald & Damien Lewis and their teenage children Bo Bragason & Harry Baxendale, a seemingly ordinary middle-class family on the Yorkshire coast… until the kids learn (the hard way) that they’re all vampires (albeit the ones who don’t give themselves up). Lewis’s active vampire brother (also played by Lewis) helps them through this difficult period, but makes things worse (by involving suspicious neighbor Shaun Parkes, who fears for the safety of his son Jay Lycurgo). Director Euros Lyn & writer Talitha Stevenson may want this to be the first in a new Twilight-style series, but it lacks the necessary bite, flair, and style. Mediocre.
